Outsourcing vs. Outstaffing

May 14, 2012

Second issue of ITPartner magazine in 2012 includes an article by Miratech's Vice President of Marketing, Alexey Perekatov. It clarifies the differences between the outsourcing of IT services under a service level agreement (SLA) and outstaffing.

Briefly, the difference is following: "Outstaffing supplier is responsible only for qualified personnel provided for rent and for ensuring its official employment, taxation, social insurance, etc., but is not responsible for the efficient loading of personnel and the quality of its output or services.
Outsourcing provider is responsible for the quality of service (that is, to ensure the agreed level of service), regardless of which "quantity and quality" of staff was required to achieve this level of service."

Article is complemented with the opinion of an expert - Vladimir Diadiura, Head of IT Department of PJSC Bank for Investment and Savings. He talks about how a bank outsources its databases administration and maintenance, separately describing the experience of cooperation with Miratech: "We are quite satisfied with the chosen strategy and the level of service provided by Miratech, and it seems to me that in such cases, outsourcing is significantly more effective than any other alternatives."
